We are staying in contact with the pre-commissioning unit of the new Truxtun to
be commissioned to let you know of the progress towards commissioning in 2009.

Truxtun Association Future
With the soon to arrive U.S.S. Truxtun - DDG-103 we will need to change the
logo currently being used by the Association. As fitting as it was for the
nuclear powered Truxtun a new logo is needed in order to reflect the arrival
of the newest Truxtun in the history of Thomas Truxtun and the ships honoring
him.
Therefore, we are asking that you begin thinking of a new design that can be
used for the Association. We hope to have all designs available on this site
and presented at the reunion so we can vote on the best design.
The ship's crest that has been adopted by the DDG-103 is located on the page
for the
DDG-103 Truxtun. Please consider
incorporating elements of it in your attempts at a new design for the
Association.
Along with the logo change, we are looking to update the Association By-laws.
The proposed changes are still being worked on by the current officers.
They will be availble at check-in at the reunion so you will have plenty of
time to look them over before the biennial meeting at the reunion.
